Good for

  • Refreshing App Store and Google Play panels
  • Recapturing iPhone screenshots
  • Updating iPad store screenshots

Overview

What it does

This skill refreshes screenshots for App Store and Google Play listings on iPhone and iPad. It updates headlines, supporting text, image crops, and layout in assets/store-screenshots/render.mjs, then captures images at the specified device density and rebuilds the panels used in the listing. Headlines must fit within two lines and supporting text within one. If copy does not fit, it is rewritten instead of shrinking the type.

When it helps

Use it when you want to change store listing images or recapture screens for iPhone or iPad. After rendering, the skill opens a preview and full-size images for each store so you can review the results.

Example requests

  • “Update the App Store and Google Play listing screenshots.”
  • “Recapture the store images for iPad.”
  • “Change the copy and layout of the store panels.”

Notes

Captures use --pixel-density 3 on iPhone 16 Pro Max and --pixel-density 2 on iPad Pro 13-inch. The font is SF Pro. The demo host and Metro use separate ports, and the main daemons are not restarted. Screenshots are not published to a store, a PR, or elsewhere public, and are not committed unless requested by the user.

This overview was written by AI (OpenAI Codex) from the public SKILL.md. Check the original below for the exact behavior.

Document check

AI checked the SKILL.md for operations that need care and for setup requirements. The score comes only from actually running the skill (hands-on test).

SafetyAre sending data, deleting files, and running commands disclosed?
AGoodIt explicitly withholds public uploads and commits unless requested.
Easy setupDoes it need few tools or API keys, and are they documented?
BPartly lackingIt specifies devices, density flags, SF Pro, and ports, but no setup steps.

Not counted in the score. Rated by AI (OpenAI Codex) as of Oct 29, 2026. Treat it as a guide and read the original before installing.

Store screenshots

Follow assets/store-screenshots/README.md. It owns the panels, the creative direction, the render command and the recapture steps. Change copy, crops and layout in assets/store-screenshots/render.mjs, not in the exports.

Working rules:

  • Capture at native density: --pixel-density 3 on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, --pixel-density 2 on the iPad Pro 13-inch. The default is 1x, which is too soft for the store.
  • Every headline wraps to two lines and every subline fits on one. The renderer enforces this; rewrite the copy rather than shrink the type.
  • Use SF Pro. Never substitute another font.
  • Open output/preview.png and a full-size panel from each store before you report a render. Show the user the preview.
  • Do not upload screenshots to a store, a PR, or anywhere public, and do not commit, unless the user asks.
  • Stage the demo host on its own port and pick a free Metro port. Do not restart the main daemons.
  • When you learn something the next capture needs, fix the README rather than this skill.
