gitlab-skill

Use when designing or validating GitLab CI/CD and automatic release lifecycles, inspecting pipeline and job state read-only, composing non-interactive merge-request commands, or setting up protected refs and release credentials. Also covers reusable components and inputs, GitLab Functions, gitlab-ci-local, glab command composition, and GitLab Flavored Markdown. For pipeline execution or retry requests, provide inspection and command drafting while leaving execution to the operator.

SKILL.md (original)

Review the instructions the agent will receive before you install.

GitLab CI/CD and GLFM

Load each reference whose trigger matches the task:

  • Pipeline Configuration - Load for include merge order, extends, needs, parallel:matrix, or compile-time expressions.
  • CI/CD Components and Inputs - Load for component structure, testing, Catalog publication, version selection, consumption, component inputs, or pipeline inputs.
  • GitLab Functions Core - Load for Function packages, definitions, job invocation, inputs, outputs, runtime expressions, environment, or composition.
  • GitLab Functions OCI - Load only for OCI/file-system loading, OCI build/publication, registry authentication, or Function image tags.
  • Obsolete Functions Migration - Load only when interpreting or migrating existing CI/CD Steps, step.yml, step:, step_dir, or job.<variable> syntax.
  • Security and Deprecations - Load when reviewing untrusted includes/components, handling credentials, pinning dependencies, or modernizing deprecated CI syntax.
  • GitLab CI Local - Load for local executors, input validation, include caching, --skip-input-validation, or --fetch-includes.
  • GitLab Flavored Markdown - Load for documented GLFM syntax and rendering constraints.
  • glab CLI - Load for existing-ref CI Lint or before composing glab API, repository, CI inspection, merge-request, token, or variable commands, especially on self-managed hosts.
  • Automatic Tags and Releases - Load for automatic release intake, no-release or release branches, replaceable adapters, release-tag routing, composition, or universal checkpoint reporting; follow its conditional pointers for selected tools, destinations, and credentials.
  • Release Live Evidence - Load only when the user requests live proof, sandbox IDs, observed failures, or evidence classification for the release lifecycle.

For uncovered CI/CD subjects, consult the official GitLab CI/CD documentation. For uncovered GLFM subjects, consult the official GitLab Flavored Markdown documentation. The existing-ref glab inspection branch is this skill's CI Lint operational authority.

Add automated documentation updater to any Claude skill. Creates a Python sync script that downloads upstream docs, processes markdown for AI consumption, and maintains local cache with configurable refresh. Collects template variables, then delegates implementation through 5-phase workflow. Use when adding auto-updating reference documentation to plugins or skills.

SAM-style feature initiation workflow — discovery through codebase analysis, architecture spec, task decomposition, validation, and context manifest. Use when a user asks to add a feature, plan a feature, or convert an idea into an executable SAM plan.

Browser automation for AI agents using the agent-browser CLI and Playwright. Use when navigating pages, filling forms, clicking buttons, taking screenshots, extracting data, testing web apps, logging into sites, or automating any browser task. Triggers on "open a website", "fill out a form", "click a button", "scrape data", "test this web app", "automate browser actions", or any programmatic web interaction request.

Runs the description-drift experiment — spawns all Claude Code agents simultaneously to collect self-reported capabilities, then compares them against static frontmatter descriptions to reveal how reliable orchestrator routing based on descriptions actually is. Use when measuring description drift across the agent fleet, re-running the capability collection experiment, analyzing a specific agent's self-reported capabilities, or auditing whether frontmatter descriptions accurately reflect agent behavior.
