update-docs

Keep documentation aligned with changes to behavior, configuration, and operational procedures. It updates existing pages, corrects stale instructions, and preserves reusable workflow or research guidance so future readers can find authoritative information.

OriginalShow the original description

Update durable docs when explicitly requested or when current work changes behavior, exposes stale instructions, establishes an operational pattern, or yields reusable research guidance.

Skill: Update Docs

Use this when a task changes behavior, reveals stale instructions, creates a new operational pattern, or produces guidance that should survive outside the issue thread.

What to Update

  • User-facing docs when behavior or configuration changes.
  • Operational docs when commands, service setup, dashboards, alerts, or recovery procedures change.
  • Skill docs when an agent workflow becomes reusable.
  • Experiment reports or indexes when the work produces durable research findings.

Prefer editing the nearest existing doc over adding a new one. Add a new doc only when the topic lacks a natural home or would make an existing page unfocused.

Content Rules

  • Describe current behavior, not aspiration.
  • Include exact commands and paths for operational procedures.
  • Remove or correct stale instructions rather than adding caveats around them.
  • Keep broad docs concise; put detailed run notes in the existing issue, W&B report, or durable session channel.

Done Criteria

  • Docs and code agree for the changed behavior.
  • The next agent or human can find the authoritative procedure without reading the whole issue thread.
  • Any generated guidance is generalized enough to reuse and specific enough to act on.

Compare Zephyr changes using the same prepared dataset and matching execution settings. Analyze Finelog metrics for each processing stage to distinguish CPU efficiency, elapsed time, and peak memory changes, then report improvements, regressions, or tradeoffs.

  • Compare Zephyr performance before and after a PR
  • Assess speed gains against additional CPU usage
  • Check peak memory and out-of-memory regressions

  • Inspecting text fields without a full dataset download
  • Checking configurations and data splits

Turn a specified GCP access request into a reviewable Pulumi change and pull request. Select the narrowest suitable role and encrypt personal email identities, covering resource permissions and Cloud Run viewer access through IAP, an access gateway.

  • Prepare a request for GCS bucket read access
  • Add a viewer to a Cloud Run service protected by IAP
  • Prepare service account impersonation permissions

  • Checking outputs and gradients against a reference
  • Maintaining backend selection and fallback behavior
