AI rating90/ 100See how to install

Good for

  • Show a widget document on a connected Mac
  • Switch the document displayed in the panel
  • Show or hide the panel
  • Navigate the panel to a local app destination

Overview

What it does

Display widget documents in a panel on a connected Mac and control the panel’s visibility and destination. Documents are created and displayed with show_widget, setting presentation.target to node_panel. The Canvas tool handles direct panel controls: present opens the panel, hide hides it, and navigate changes its destination.

When it helps

Use it when you want to view a widget document prepared by your agent on the connected Mac. It also helps when you want to switch to another document or open the panel only when needed. Destinations use either a hosted document path or a special scheme for opening a local app.

Example requests

  • “Show this widget document in the panel on the connected Mac.”
  • “Switch the panel to another widget document.”
  • “Hide the panel.”

Notes

A Mac that supports presentation must be connected. Use the dedicated document path returned by show_widget; do not use arbitrary external URLs or invented local paths. When plugins.entries.canvas.config.host.enabled is false, document hosting and panel presentation are disabled.

This overview was written by AI (OpenAI Codex) from the public SKILL.md. Check the original below for the exact behavior.

Objective evaluation

AI rated this skill on four points using only the contents of its SKILL.md. Stars and popularity are not taken into account.

Clear instructionsIs it clear when to use it and what it does?
AGoodIt clearly describes document presentation on a connected Mac and the roles of present, hide, and navigate.
Concrete stepsAre steps, inputs, outputs, and examples spelled out?
AGoodIt specifies the show_widget presentation target, document-path format, and panel operations.
SafetyAre sending data, deleting files, and running commands disclosed?
AGoodDocument paths are restricted to the returned dedicated route; arbitrary external URLs and invented paths are prohibited.
Easy setupDoes it need few tools or API keys, and are they documented?
BPartly lackingA compatible connected Mac and the enabling configuration are identified, but connection instructions are absent.

The total counts each point as A = 25, B = 15, C = 5. Rated by AI (OpenAI Codex) as of Oct 19, 2026. Treat it as a guide and read the original before installing.

Review the instructions the agent will receive before you install.

Widget panel

Use show_widget with presentation.target: "node_panel" to create a hosted widget document and present it on an eligible connected Mac. This is the normal agent path.

The Canvas tool is limited to direct panel control:

  • present: show the panel, optionally with a hosted document path or local app scheme.
  • hide: hide the panel.
  • navigate: navigate the visible panel to a hosted document path or local app scheme.

Do not invent local file paths or arbitrary external URLs. Hosted documents use the capability-scoped /__openclaw__/canvas/documents/... route returned by show_widget. A2UI content renders on session boards and loads renderer assets from /__openclaw__/a2ui.

If plugins.entries.canvas.config.host.enabled is false, hosted widget documents, A2UI renderer assets, and node-panel presentation are disabled together.
