OriginalShow the original description

Post an approved message as the logged-in Discord user through the Discord desktop app. Use for release announcements or other direct user-authored Discord posts; not for OpenClaw channel sends, bots, webhooks, relays, agent sessions, or archive search.

Good for

  • Posting a release announcement from a personal Discord account
  • Sending an approved message to a specific server channel
  • Verifying the destination and text before posting

Overview

What it does

Post approved messages through the Discord desktop app using your existing logged-in account. The complete text is prepared outside Discord, and the server name, channel, and account are checked on screen. After sending, the skill checks that your message appears exactly once in the intended channel and reports the result.

When it helps

Use it to post something you wrote, such as a release announcement, to a specific Discord channel. If the destination is unclear, it asks for clarification. You review the finished message and verified destination before it is sent.

Example requests

  • “Post this release announcement from my account in the announcements channel of the specified server.”
  • “Check this text and destination, then send it in Discord.”

Notes

It uses computer-use and /Applications/Discord.app with an existing logged-in session. Before entering text, it shows the final message and verified destination and requests confirmation at that point. Changes to either require renewed confirmation. It stops if login status or the destination cannot be verified. Bot and webhook sending and history searches are outside its scope. Editing, deleting, or sending additional messages after posting requires separate instructions and confirmation.

This overview was written by AI (OpenAI Codex) from the public SKILL.md. Check the original below for the exact behavior.

Clear instructionsIs it clear when to use it and what it does?
AGoodIt clearly covers posting from the user's account and excludes bot sending and history searches.
Concrete stepsAre steps, inputs, outputs, and examples spelled out?
AGoodIt orders text preparation, visual checks, confirmation, sending, and verification that the post appears once.
SafetyAre sending data, deleting files, and running commands disclosed?
AGoodIt requires confirmation before typing, renewed confirmation after changes, and stopping for an incorrect account or unverifiable destination.
Easy setupDoes it need few tools or API keys, and are they documented?
BPartly lackingIt requires computer-use and a logged-in Discord app, but provides no setup instructions.

The total counts each point as A = 25, B = 15, C = 5. Rated by AI (OpenAI Codex) as of Oct 19, 2026. Treat it as a guide and read the original before installing.

Discord User Post

Use $computer-use to operate /Applications/Discord.app in the user's existing logged-in session. This workflow represents the user directly.

Prepare

  1. Draft the complete final message outside Discord.
  2. Confirm the intended server and channel with the user when either is ambiguous.
  3. Open Discord and navigate to the exact destination without entering the message.
  4. Verify the visible server name, channel header, and logged-in account.

Do not infer the target from unrelated Discord content. Stop if Discord is not logged in, the account is wrong, or the exact destination cannot be verified.

Confirm and Post

Posting is representational communication. Follow the $computer-use confirmation policy even when the user previously asked for an announcement:

  1. Show the user the exact final body and verified destination.
  2. Request action-time confirmation before typing into Discord.
  3. After confirmation, enter the approved body unchanged.
  4. Visually inspect the composed message and destination again.
  5. Send once.

If the body or destination changes after confirmation, request confirmation again before sending.

Verify

  • Confirm the message appears once, from the user's account, in the intended channel.
  • Report the server, channel, and visible send result.
  • Do not edit, delete, react, or send a follow-up without the corresponding user instruction and confirmation.

Guardrails

  • Never use openclaw message, an OpenClaw agent, a Discord bot, webhook, relay, or token for this workflow.
  • Never expose private Discord content or account details in public output.
  • Never send a draft, partial message, duplicate, or unreviewed attachment.
  • For Discord archive/history/search, use $discrawl instead.
