trader-portfolio

Review portfolio holdings and prepare a proposed rebalancing plan from target weights. Explains that neural-trader 2.8.11 only returns equal weights, directs actual optimization to a separate skill, and does not place trades.

Optimize portfolio allocation using npx neural-trader mean-variance engine with risk constraints and rebalancing plan

AI rating70/ 100See how to install

Good for

  • Reviewing current holdings and allocation history
  • Checking the limits of the equal-weight portfolio demo
  • Preparing trades and cost estimates from target weights
  • Saving allocation proposals for later reference

Overview

What it does

Reads portfolio holdings to help review asset allocation and prepare a rebalancing proposal. Rebalancing means adjusting holdings to match target proportions. The proposal brings together current and target weights, required trades, and estimated costs, and saves allocation information. The workflow also includes searching past allocations and calling SONA to predict expected returns.

When it helps

Use it to organize your current holdings or prepare adjustments toward target weights calculated separately. It also helps you distinguish what the commands actually return from the parts that require additional calculations.

Example requests

  • “Review my current holdings and past allocations.”
  • “Use the target weights from /trader-portfolio-cg and my holdings to summarize proposed trades and costs.”

Notes

Uses neural-trader and MCP tools from ruflo-core. In version 2.8.11, the allocation command is an equal-weight demo: it performs neither actual optimization nor rebalancing calculations. Mean-variance optimization is handled by /trader-portfolio-cg. Risk assessment requires a return series calculated from real data. Trades are proposals only; no orders are placed.

Objective evaluation

AI rated this skill on four points using only the contents of its SKILL.md. Stars and popularity are not taken into account.

Clear instructionsIs it clear when to use it and what it does?
AGoodIt explicitly describes the equal-weight demo’s limits, optimization through another skill, and the scope of trade proposals.
Concrete stepsAre steps, inputs, outputs, and examples spelled out?
BPartly lackingCLI and memory-operation examples are provided, but calculation procedures for trade quantities and costs are absent.
SafetyAre sending data, deleting files, and running commands disclosed?
BPartly lackingIt states that no orders are placed, but omits storage destinations and confirmation steps for MCP handling of holdings data.
Easy setupDoes it need few tools or API keys, and are they documented?
BPartly lackingA neural-trader installation command is provided, but ruflo-core MCP connection steps are absent.

The total counts each point as A = 25, B = 15, C = 5. Rated by AI (OpenAI Codex) as of Oct 21, 2026. Treat it as a guide and read the original before installing.

Optimize portfolio allocation using neural-trader's portfolio engine.

Steps:

  1. Ensure neural-trader is available: npm ls neural-trader 2>/dev/null || npm install --ignore-scripts neural-trader
  2. Load current portfolio: mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_search({ query: "current portfolio holdings", namespace: "trading-portfolio" })
  3. Run portfolio optimization:
    npx neural-trader --portfolio optimize --symbols AAPL,MSFT,GOOGL --target-return 0.10

(--risk-target is accepted as an alias of --target-return.) In 2.8.11 this returns EQUAL weights and a risk figure for them, with a note saying the returns matrix is not wired; it does not optimise anything. For real mean-variance weights use /trader-portfolio-cg. --portfolio current and --portfolio rebalance run the same equal-weight demo and ignore the word after --portfolio.
  4. Risk metrics: --var and --correlation are not CLI flags. Use --risk assess --returns <series> (see /trader-risk) with returns you derived from real data.
  5. Use SONA for expected return prediction: mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__neural_predict({ input: "expected returns for [HOLDINGS] given current regime" })
  6. Rebalancing plan: the CLI has no rebalance computation (see step 3). Derive it yourself from the weights /trader-portfolio-cg returns and the user's stated holdings: trades needed, current vs target weights, estimated costs. Present it as a proposal for the user to act on; this plugin places no orders.
  7. Search for similar allocations in history: mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__agentdb_pattern-search({ query: "optimized portfolio Sharpe > 1", namespace: "trading-portfolio" })
  8. Store optimized allocation: mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_store({ key: "portfolio-optimal-TIMESTAMP", value: "ALLOCATION_JSON", namespace: "trading-portfolio" })

adr-create

FreeSummaryAI rating 80

Create an Architecture Decision Record, a document for recording important design choices, with the next sequential number. It generates a Markdown template, registers the record in AgentDB, and links related decisions found through search.

  • Record the reasoning behind adopting a technology
  • Start an ADR for an API or data model change
  • Document an infrastructure decision

adr-index

FreeSummaryAI rating 90

Build a searchable index and relationship graph from ADRs, records of architectural decisions. Import two supported document formats, refresh existing metadata without duplicate relationships, and review summaries of statuses, missing references, and inconsistencies.

  • Index ADRs imported from another project
  • Refresh a graph that differs from files on disk
  • Set up ADR tracking in an existing codebase

adr-reindex

FreeSummaryAI rating 70

Rebuild the index of ADRs, records of architectural decisions, after files or relationship lines are deleted. It clears stored records and relationships, indexes the files still present, and checks that the final record count matches.

  • Rebuild the index after deleting an ADR file
  • Remove stale relationships after editing an ADR
  • Reconcile the ADR index on a schedule
