Generate trading signals using npx neural-trader anomaly detection engine with Z-score scoring and neural prediction

AI rating80/ 100See how to install

Good for

  • Scan selected symbols for unusual price movements
  • Filter trading signals by a saved strategy
  • Compare detected anomalies with historical patterns
  • Check whether scan results use live or synthetic data

Overview

What it does

Examine price data for selected market symbols and organize unusual movements into trading signals. neural-trader classifies movements such as sudden changes, sustained deviations, and flat periods. It evaluates them with a Z-score, a measure of how far they depart from normal behavior. Saved strategy filters, SONA predictions of market conditions, and historical pattern matching help produce ranked results showing the instrument, direction, confidence, and other signal details.

When it helps

Use this skill to review unusual price movements across several symbols or organize detected signals according to an existing trading strategy. Results are set to remain stored for 24 hours.

Example requests

  • “Scan AAPL and MSFT and rank the detected signals.”
  • “Filter the results using my saved strategy and compare them with similar historical patterns.”

Notes

The skill uses npm, npx, neural-trader, and MCP tools for prediction, search, and memory. If the data source is anything other than yahoo-finance, results are treated as a demo, with no entry, stop-loss, or target prices proposed. Also watch for a switch to synthetic data when retrieval of real data fails.

This overview was written by AI (OpenAI Codex) from the public SKILL.md. Check the original below for the exact behavior.

Objective evaluation

AI rated this skill on four points using only the contents of its SKILL.md. Stars and popularity are not taken into account.

Clear instructionsIs it clear when to use it and what it does?
AGoodIt explicitly describes anomaly detection for selected symbols, strategy filtering, and presentation of ranked trading signals.
Concrete stepsAre steps, inputs, outputs, and examples spelled out?
AGoodIt provides scan commands, prediction and search arguments, output fields, and a storage lifetime of 86,400 seconds.
SafetyAre sending data, deleting files, and running commands disclosed?
BPartly lackingSynthetic-data restrictions are explicit, but confirmation procedures for npm install and external data retrieval are absent.
Easy setupDoes it need few tools or API keys, and are they documented?
BPartly lackingAn installation command for neural-trader is provided, but setup instructions for the required MCP tools are absent.

The total counts each point as A = 25, B = 15, C = 5. Rated by AI (OpenAI Codex) as of Oct 21, 2026. Treat it as a guide and read the original before installing.

Review the instructions the agent will receive before you install.

Generate trading signals using neural-trader's anomaly detection engine.

Steps:

  1. Ensure neural-trader is available: npm ls neural-trader 2>/dev/null || npm install --ignore-scripts neural-trader
  2. Scan for signals:
npx neural-trader --signal scan --symbols <TICKERS> --live

    With a specific strategy:
npx neural-trader --signal scan --strategy <name> --symbols <TICKERS> --live

Without --live the scan runs on deterministic synthetic bars (dataSource: "synthetic"). Check dataSource in the result; if it is not yahoo-finance (including when the live fetch failed and fell back), present the result as a demo and propose no entry, stop or target.
  3. If --strategy specified, load strategy filters: mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_retrieve({ key: "strategy-NAME", namespace: "trading-strategies" })
  4. neural-trader classifies anomalies automatically:
    • spike (maxZ > 5): breakout — momentum entry or mean-reversion fade
    • drift (sustained high Z): trend forming — trend-following signal
    • flatline (low Z): consolidation — prepare for breakout
    • oscillation (alternating): range-bound — mean-reversion at extremes
    • pattern-break (multiple dims): regime change — close and reassess
    • cluster-outlier (>50% dims): multi-factor dislocation — arbitrage
  5. Use SONA for regime prediction: mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__neural_predict({ input: "anomaly types: [DETECTED], scores: [SCORES]" })
  6. Search historical pattern matches: mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__agentdb_pattern-search({ query: "ANOMALY_TYPE score RANGE", namespace: "trading-signals" })
  7. Present ranked signals: instrument, direction, confidence, anomaly type, entry/stop/target
  8. Store signals with a 24-hour TTL (intraday signals shouldn't pollute long-running memory; the MemoryConsolidator.sweepExpired() pass introduced in ADR-125 Phase 4 — shipped in @claude-flow/memory@3.0.0-alpha.18 — sweeps them out after they expire): mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_store({ key: "signal-TIMESTAMP", value: "SIGNALS_JSON", namespace: "trading-signals", ttl: 86400 }) (ttl is in seconds; expiresAt is not a memory_store parameter and would be ignored, leaving the signal in memory forever)

adr-create

FreeSummaryAI rating 80

Create an Architecture Decision Record, a document for recording important design choices, with the next sequential number. It generates a Markdown template, registers the record in AgentDB, and links related decisions found through search.

  • Record the reasoning behind adopting a technology
  • Start an ADR for an API or data model change
  • Document an infrastructure decision

adr-index

FreeSummaryAI rating 90

Build a searchable index and relationship graph from ADRs, records of architectural decisions. Import two supported document formats, refresh existing metadata without duplicate relationships, and review summaries of statuses, missing references, and inconsistencies.

  • Index ADRs imported from another project
  • Refresh a graph that differs from files on disk
  • Set up ADR tracking in an existing codebase
