http-requests

Audit a page’s HTTP requests to find unnecessary network activity behind slow loading. Confirm bottlenecks with performance measurements, then suggest changes such as combining files, grouping icons, or embedding resources needed for the initial display.

OriginalShow the original description

Use when auditing slow page loads, heavy assets, or rendering delays related to Minimize HTTP requests. Verify the actual bottleneck in DevTools, Lighthouse, or field data before recommending changes.

Good for

  • Investigating slow initial page loads
  • Finding unnecessary requests for images, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Planning file consolidation and icon sprites
  • Reviewing loading behavior with performance measurements

SKILL.md (original)

Review the instructions the agent will receive before you install.

Minimize HTTP requests

Each HTTP request incurs network overhead—DNS lookup, TCP connection, and TLS handshake add latency. Reducing requests significantly improves initial load time.

Quick Reference

  • Each HTTP request adds latency (DNS, TCP, TLS handshakes)
  • HTTP/2 multiplexing reduces but doesn't eliminate request overhead
  • Bundle critical CSS/JS, use SVG sprites for icons
  • Target under 50 requests for initial page load

Check

Count the number of HTTP requests this page makes and identify opportunities for reduction.

Fix

Reduce HTTP requests by combining files, using sprites, inlining critical resources, and implementing HTTP/2.

Explain

Explain how each HTTP request adds latency and why minimizing requests improves performance.

Code Review

Review the routes, assets, and loading behavior that affect Minimize HTTP requests. Flag exact files, requests, or rendering steps that add unnecessary network, CPU, or layout cost, and describe the measurement method used to confirm the issue.

404-page

FreeSummary

Create and review custom 404 pages that help visitors recover from broken or moved links through search and navigation. Check the rendered page and HTTP response so missing content returns a proper 404 status.

  • Creating a helpful custom 404 page
  • Adding search and navigation for broken links
  • Checking missing pages that return HTTP 200

Review and add automated accessibility checks for components, pages, and continuous integration workflows. Use axe-based tools to detect structural and attribute issues, while identifying checks that still need keyboard or screen reader testing.

  • Review accessibility coverage for shared components
  • Add accessibility checks to page flow tests
  • Run accessibility tests in CI

Review sign-in, registration, multi-factor authentication, and account recovery for accessibility barriers. Find blocked paste, difficult code entry, and inaccessible backup methods, then suggest authentication paths that support password managers, autofill, or device approval.

  • Reviewing accessibility across the sign-in process
  • Checking verification code paste and autofill
  • Inspecting password reset and account recovery
