Good for

  • Add Product JSON-LD to product pages
  • Check structured prices against displayed prices
  • Review availability and rating fields
  • Validate markup with Google's Rich Results Test

Overview

What it does

product adds and reviews Product structured data on product pages. Structured data describes product information in a format search engines can read. It checks the product name, images, description, price, currency, and availability in JSON-LD, including whether the price matches the price displayed on the page. Ratings, brands, and product identifiers are also included in the review.

When it helps

Use it when preparing product pages for an online shop or reviewing data intended to show prices, availability, and ratings in search results. It also helps you identify specific missing fields and formatting errors in existing markup.

Example requests

  • “Add Product JSON-LD to this product page.”
  • “Check whether the structured data price matches the price shown on screen.”
  • “Review image URLs, currency, availability, and review counts.”

Notes

Validation uses Google's Rich Results Test. Images must be an array of absolute URLs, currency must use an ISO 4217 code, and availability must use a schema.org URL. When ratings are included, check that the review count is greater than zero.

Objective evaluation

AI rated this skill on four points using only the contents of its SKILL.md. Stars and popularity are not taken into account.

Clear instructionsIs it clear when to use it and what it does?
AGoodIt explicitly covers adding Product structured data to product pages and comparing it with displayed prices.
Concrete stepsAre steps, inputs, outputs, and examples spelled out?
AGoodIt specifies required JSON-LD fields, URL and currency formats, review-count conditions, and a validation tool.
SafetyAre sending data, deleting files, and running commands disclosed?
BPartly lackingIt requires external validation with Rich Results Test but does not explain what to submit or confirmation before submission.
Easy setupDoes it need few tools or API keys, and are they documented?
AGoodRich Results Test is named for validation, with no API keys or additional runtime required.

The total counts each point as A = 25, B = 15, C = 5. Rated by AI (OpenAI Codex) as of Oct 23, 2026. Treat it as a guide and read the original before installing.

Add Product schema markup

Product schema enables Google to show price, availability, ratings, and review count directly in search results—rich results have significantly higher click-through rates than standard blue links.

Quick Reference

  • Add Product JSON-LD schema to every product page for rich result eligibility
  • Required for rich results: name, image, description, and offers (with price and priceCurrency)
  • Include aggregateRating for star ratings in search results
  • Prices in schema must match the prices displayed on the page

Check

Check each product page for a JSON-LD script block with @type 'Product'. Verify it includes: name, image, description, and an offers property with price, priceCurrency, and availability. Check that prices in schema match the visible page prices. Validate with Google's Rich Results Test.

Fix

Add a Product JSON-LD block to each product page. Required: name, image (array of URLs), description, offers.price, offers.priceCurrency, offers.availability. Recommended: aggregateRating (ratingValue, reviewCount), brand, sku, gtin13/gtin8/mpn.

Explain

Product structured data enables Google Shopping-style rich results in organic search, showing price, star ratings, and stock status directly in the SERP. These rich results have higher visual prominence and click-through rates. Without schema, Google can only show a plain blue link for your product pages.

Code Review

Find JSON-LD blocks with @type 'Product'. Verify required fields: name, image (must be absolute URL array), description, offers.price (numeric), offers.priceCurrency (ISO 4217 code), offers.availability (schema.org URL). Check that offers.price matches the visible price on the page. Validate that aggregateRating.reviewCount > 0 if rating is present. Run through Google's Rich Results Test.
