Use this skill when the user wants intellectual understanding — learning how or why something works, not getting a task done or soliciting Claude's judgment. Trigger for: - Explicit learning requests: teach, explain, ELI5, walk me through, quiz me, flashcards, "I'm rusty on"; definitions ("what is X") - Terse concept names implying "help me understand this": "Galois theory," "transformers, from scratch" - Confusion signals: "won't stick," "keep mixing these up," "not getting it" - Learning-path questions: prerequisites, sequencing, what to study before X - Conceptual questions about mechanisms, causes, or dynamics Don't trigger for: - Tasks: coding, writing, calculation, translation, factual lookup, news updates - Personal troubleshooting; resource/textbook recommendations - Claude's evaluative verdict: opinion prompts ("do you think X", "settle this", "honest take", "is X dead / still taken seriously") and interpretive takes ("was X really as harsh as people say")

Use this skill any time a spreadsheet file is the primary input or output. This means any task where the user wants to: open, read, edit, or fix an existing .xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx, .csv, or .tsv file (e.g., adding columns, computing formulas, formatting, charting, cleaning messy data); create a new spreadsheet from scratch or from other data sources; or convert between tabular file formats. Trigger especially when the user references a spreadsheet file by name or path — even casually (like "the xlsx in my downloads") — and wants something done to it or produced from it. Also trigger for cleaning or restructuring messy tabular data files (malformed rows, misplaced headers, junk data) into proper spreadsheets. The deliverable must be a spreadsheet file. Do NOT trigger when the primary deliverable is a Word document, HTML report, standalone Python script, database pipeline, or Google Sheets API integration, even if tabular data is involved.

Read this skill before the first step of any request to do something in an app on the person's own computer (Notes, Finder, System Settings, any desktop app), to look at their screen, or for "computer use". Computer use (desktop control) lets Claude take screenshots of the person's desktop and control it with clicks, typing and scrolling through the Claude desktop app; its tools are named mcp__computer-use__* when the session runs in the desktop app and mcp__remote-devices__computer_* when a cloud session is linked to the person's computer; before a conversation is linked there may be no such tools, only an enable__mcp__remote-devices__Claude_Browser tool, which links it. It covers getting linked, picking the right tool, the access flow, and what to do when computer use is off or out of reach. It is not for websites, which go through Claude in Chrome or the built-in browser and their own skills.

ALWAYS start here when the user wants a page OR a doc: page, living page, doc, document, living doc, bongo or bongo doc (the old name; new ones are made here, not by a Bongo connector), shared or collaborative doc, write-up, one-pager, memo, brief, proposal, plan, spec, report, meeting notes, notes, checklist, tracker, or anything to read, edit, comment on and share together — 'write this up', 'put this in a doc', 'draft a brief', 'jot this down somewhere we can share and edit', 'turn this file into a page' — the DEFAULT for any of these when no file format is named; a Word/.docx, PDF, .pptx or .xlsx FILE asked for by name goes to that format's skill instead. Also whenever the pages connector is about to be used to create a page. Not for READMEs, code or docstrings. A lowercase /pages as its own word anywhere in the message (not in a URL, path or longer name) invokes this skill whatever else is asked — a summary, an answer, a comparison, a plan: the page is the reply.

Paint an original image in a watercolor style by writing code, not by calling an image model. Use when the user asks you to draw, paint, sketch, or make a picture of something and there is no image-generation tool available, or when they ask for a painting, watercolor, or illustration you can iterate on. Do not use for charts, diagrams, UI mockups, or requests to edit an existing photograph.

Reviews a change before it is merged, from little or no input. With nothing typed it reviews the branch you are on, uncommitted work included, against its base, its PR and its ticket, so a developer can check their own work before asking for review. With PR links, repo#N or a branch it reviews someone else's change the same way, several repos at once. It judges the failed CI checks and every Bugbot and reviewer comment, gets a fresh breaker review, traces every other piece of code that uses what changed, proves each finding or marks it unproven, says what the merge needs (a build, env vars, migrations, deploy order) and how to check the deploy, never posts to GitHub, and offers fixes only after the report. Runs only when the user types it.

Set up first-pass for a main folder that holds many repos, or for one repo. In a main folder it writes one set of working rules at the root that every session loads, a workspace map, and a section in each repo with that repo's real commands, test limits and invariants, and it lists each repo's own hooks so first-pass can run them from the main folder. In one repo it writes the rules and the section into that repo. Use when asked to set up, install, add, update or re-run first-pass, to "add the shipping rules", or when the start-of-session check says something drifted. Re-run to update.

Use this skill whenever you learn something important during a conversation: a key architectural decision, a project-specific convention, a bug root-cause, a 3rd-party API quirk, or any fact that would help a future agent avoid re-doing the same research. Writes structured entries to the project's knowledge base so that context persists across conversations and agents.

MANUAL TRIGGER ONLY: invoke only when user types /office-hours. YC Office Hours — two modes. Startup mode: six forcing questions that expose demand reality, status quo, desperate specificity, narrowest wedge, observation, and future-fit. Builder mode: design thinking brainstorming for side projects, hackathons, learning, and open source. Saves a design doc. Use when asked to "brainstorm this", "I have an idea", "help me think through this", "office hours", or "is this worth building". Proactively suggest when the user describes a new product idea or is exploring whether something is worth building — before any code is written.

Use this when reviewing statistical analysis, experiments, model evaluation, or ML work done by someone else (a notebook, PR, or report) — checking that the required context is stated and that every method applied comes with the figures and values required by the matching *-diagnostics skill. When running an analysis yourself, apply the matching *-diagnostics skill directly.
