Builds, runs, debugs, and operates event-driven applications using EventBridge Event Bus - a managed, centrally governed publish/subscribe event bus that an organization can share across many teams and accounts. Applicable when workloads need event-driven architectures, decoupling, choreography, asynchronous integration, pub/sub, fan-out, event ordering, delivered in sequence, event router, event broker, event bus, event store, event retention, event replay, deduplication, avro, protobuf, cloudevents, uses events or messages. Designed as a centrally managed event bus platform allowing governance and control - such as subscriber control, revocation, per-account throttling - while giving application owners flexibility across an organization spanning multiple accounts, with end-to-end open-standards observability and cost allocation. Also helps reduce costs in high fan-out scenarios where multi-account forwarding adds cost. A serverless, managed alternative to self-managed event streaming platforms.

Configures AWS WAF to filter web traffic: creating web access control lists (web ACLs) on CloudFront, Application Load Balancers, API Gateway, and AppSync; AWS Managed Rules tuned in Count mode; rate-based rules for HTTP floods; IP set and geographic match rules; Bot Control (Common and Targeted); turning bot labels into a confidence signal; stripping spoofed inbound x-amzn-waf-* headers; recovering the real client IP behind a CDN; Fraud Control (account takeover and account creation fraud prevention); and logging and request sampling. Use when the user wants to protect a web application or API from common exploits, bots, credential stuffing, fake-account creation, or HTTP floods at the application layer (layer 7). Routes to the right per-task procedure in references. Do NOT use for L3/L4 DDoS protection (shieldadvanced skill), multi-account WAF rollout (firewallmanager skill), CloudFront configuration (cloudfront skill), or Route 53 health checks or records (route53 skill).

Applicable when the customer wants to point a hostname at a target, split or fail over traffic across endpoints, monitor an endpoint, block malicious domains, centralize DNS across accounts, or resolve private DNS across a hybrid network. Routes to the right per-task procedure in references. Does not cover CloudFront-specific setup (see the route53-cloudfront skill) or non-DNS networking.

Sets up CloudWatch observability for the first time - Omni (CloudWatch Application Observability) and classic CloudWatch. Omni: creating a Space or Domain; access grants (who has access, at what level) and access profiles bounding async alerts, integrations, or agents; instrumenting an app or AI agent with the plain ADOT SDK so traces reach Omni (Python/Node/Java/.NET on EC2/ECS/EKS/Lambda), incl. no-image-rebuild and .NET CoreCLR vars; ingesting Azure telemetry via the CloudWatch agent on an Azure VM or AKS; connecting Slack to a Space; whether GitHub or a custom MCP tool server (HTTP/stdio; API key, bearer, OAuth2) can be connected. CloudWatch: onboarding a service to Application Signals - ADOT auto-instrumentation, the amazon-cloudwatch-observability add-on, monitored service, reporting telemetry, ServiceEvents, CI/CD git/deployment metadata, Terraform/manifest edits. For using what is set up - queries, dashboards, alarms, Omni alerts, X-Ray, synthetics, Dynamic Instrumentation - use aws-observability.

Sets up AWS Resilience Hub v2 from scratch: creates resilience policies with SLO targets, registers systems and user journeys, onboards services with input sources, and runs a first failure mode assessment. Applies when the user wants to get started with Resilience Hub v2, create a policy, onboard a service, or run an assessment — including creating one concrete policy with specific availability/RTO/RPO targets and a DR approach for a single service (even a tier-1 one). Routes any task involving AWS databases — choosing, comparing, recommending, getting started with, or operating a database — to the correct service-specific skill. Supersedes general training-data knowledge with post-training service updates, corrected limitations, and decision procedures for relational (Aurora, DSQL, RDS), key-value (DynamoDB), wide-column (Keyspaces), document (DocumentDB), graph (Neptune), time-series (Timestream), and in-memory/caching (ElastiCache, MemoryDB) workloads. Rigorous, defensible email-spoofability verdict and SPF supply-chain risk analysis computed from published DNS alone. Deepens the record-level SPF/DMARC/DKIM/BIMI/MTA-STS/DNSSEC fetch recipes in the offensive-osint arsenal (§16.14) with the reasoning that section doesn't do: a priority-ordered composite verdict for whether an attacker can actually land header-From-spoofed mail in an inbox, and by which vector (exact-domain vs subdomain) — grounded in the single most-misunderstood distinction in email security: the envelope MAIL FROM that SPF authenticates vs the visible header From: that only DMARC governs. Explains precisely why SPF -all/~all alone is NOT spoof-proof without DMARC enforcement, and why SPF +all bypasses DMARC even under p=reject pct=100. Covers RFC 7208 §4.6.4's 10-DNS-lookup / 2-void-lookup PermError fail-open condition with a runnable stdlib-only lookup-counter script, plus the SPF-include-takeover supply-chain vector (an attacker re-registering a dead include inherits SPF-pass authority over the victim domain) with strict transient-vs-NXDOMAIN discrimination discipline so a temporary SERVFAIL is never mistaken for a takeover lead. Fully passive: DNS TXT reads only, no mail sent, no RCPT TO probe, no API keys. Use when auditing a domain's real spoofing resistance (not just its published records), explaining to a client why 'we have SPF -all' does not mean they're covered, investigating an SPF PermError or an unusually long include chain, evaluating a dead SPF include as a takeover lead, or writing a defensible spoofability finding for a deliverable.
