Datadog APM

Use the Datadog Labs Pup CLI for APM and trace investigations.

Setup

brew tap datadog-labs/pack
brew install pup
pup auth login

Services

Always pass --env to APM service commands.

List operations before querying resources and use an exact returned operation name. Do not assume http.request.

Traces

Trace commands are top-level. Durations are nanoseconds, so one second is 1000000000.

Trace sampling means search results may not include every request. Avoid high-cardinality tags such as user IDs and request IDs.

Write the code for a CopilotKit Channels agent with the Channels SDK (@copilotkit/channels) — a platform-agnostic engine that puts one AG-UI agent into Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, and WhatsApp with native interactive UI. It's the engine behind OpenTag, the open-source alternative to Claude in Slack. Trigger even when the user says "Slack bot", "Discord bot", or "chat agent" without naming the SDK, as long as the context is CopilotKit / Channels. The Channels API is new and easy to get wrong from memory — always ground code in this skill.
