Ambient Mode Basics
In Istio Ambient mode:
- ztunnel: Handles L4 traffic (TCP, mTLS)
- Waypoint: Handles L7 traffic (HTTP) - needed for path-based authorization
Common Tasks
Enable Ambient for Namespace

Create Waypoint
