Convert a vague mini-program idea, feature request, or partially documented product into an evidence-calibrated product specification with target users, core problem, version-one scope, main and exception flows, page responsibilities, state matrices, and testable acceptance criteria. Use when users ask to define an MVP, clarify requirements, organize product flows, specify page behavior, resolve ambiguous product states, or prepare a stable handoff before architecture or implementation. Separates facts, user decisions, assumptions, unknowns, and future ideas; never invents product logic merely to complete a screen or technical plan.

Use when reviewing, critiquing, or stress-testing an existing strategy document. Evaluates seven dimensions — diagnosis quality, guiding policy strength, action coherence, assumption exposure, falsifiability — with optional 7S, Five Forces, Balanced Scorecard, and Hoshin Kanri lenses. Triggers on: review my strategy, poke holes in this plan, what's weak here, strategy audit, red team this. Does NOT build strategy (use strategy-interview) or brainstorm project ideas (use brainstorm-beagle).

Audit the reasoning of a document or argument (memo, proposal, investment analysis, board paper, article, the user's own draft): claims, evidence, unstated assumptions, logical gaps, fallacies, and what would falsify it, each anchored to quoted text. Use whenever the user wants reasoning examined, in any language ("audit this argument", "is this analysis sound", "poke holes in this proposal", "review the logic of my draft"; Vietnamese "phản biện giúp tôi", "soi lập luận này", "tài liệu này có lỗ hổng gì", "góp ý bản nháp của tôi"), even when they never say "critical thinking". Also use when the user drops a document and asks whether to trust or act on it, or asks to see their reasoning profile. Not for company-level strategic bets (strategy-board) or learning a topic through dialogue (socratic-questor).

Reads and analyzes academic papers (arXiv preprints, conference / journal PDFs, Zotero items) at three configurable depths: quick skim (2 min), standard read (10 min), or deep analysis (30 min). Produces structured digests covering problem, method, key innovation, results, limitations, reproducibility, hidden assumptions, and connections to the user's other work. Use when the user shares an arXiv link, PDF, or paper title and asks to read / summarize / digest / TL;DR / analyze / review / critique / explain / break down a paper, asks about a paper's contributions / methods / results / equations / figures, wants to compare two papers side by side, or needs a reading note for their records.

Real-world problem formulation, mathematical abstraction, and applied mathematics for translating between practical problems and mathematical frameworks. Covers the modeling cycle (problem identification, assumptions, formulation, analysis, validation, interpretation), Polya's framework adapted for modeling, common model types (linear, exponential, logistic, periodic, power-law), dimensional analysis (Buckingham Pi theorem), optimization (linear programming, gradient descent, constraint satisfaction), probability models (Markov chains, queuing theory, Monte Carlo simulation), statistical modeling (regression, hypothesis testing, model selection), model criticism (overfitting, underfitting, sensitivity analysis), and real-world case studies. Use when formulating mathematical models, performing dimensional analysis, optimizing systems, running simulations, or evaluating model validity.

Regression analysis, ANOVA, generalized linear models, Bayesian methods, and model selection. Covers the full modeling workflow from problem formulation through diagnostics -- linear regression, logistic regression, Poisson regression, mixed-effects models, prior specification, posterior inference, AIC/BIC comparison, cross-validation for model selection, and assumption checking. Use when fitting models, testing hypotheses, or selecting among competing statistical explanations.

Techniques for generating novel ideas, reframing problems, and escaping fixed mental models. Covers lateral thinking (de Bono), Six Thinking Hats, random stimulation, provocation operators (PO), analogical transfer, assumption challenging, and divergent-then-convergent thinking cycles. Use when the goal is to produce new options or perspectives rather than evaluate existing ones.

Use the moment a request is underspecified and you are about to act on an ASSUMED goal. Enumerate the candidate goals the request could mean, project the action or artifact each one implies, and check whether they diverge: if two or more plausible goals lead to materially different actions or artifacts, ask exactly ONE targeted clarifying question; otherwise proceed on the most-likely goal and state the assumption in one line. Clarification is an evidence-producing action, not a delay — but one question, never an interrogation. Distinct from gsd-spec-phase (GSD-phase-bound, emits a heavy SPEC.md) and intent-router (fetch strategy, not goal disambiguation). Backed by agent goal-state inference (arxiv 2606.16813v1). Triggers on acting under an assumed goal when the request admits more than one materially different reading.

This skill should be used when a story has been captured but content direction is unresolved - the spark describes WHAT to build structurally but not WHAT goes in it. Reads the story spark, splits it into Resolved (structurally clear) vs. Assumed (would have to guess) content dimensions, and surfaces each assumption for the human to confirm, correct, or expand. Also classifies implementation risk tags (has-variants, has-data-pipeline, has-animation, has-touch-targets, diverges-from-existing) so plan-chunks translates them into acceptance criteria that name the implementation mechanism. Captures answers into

Scientific validation protocol for verifying fixes work through observation, not assumption. Use when claiming a bug fix, code change, refactoring, or implementation is complete — enforces reproduce-broken-state then define-success-criteria then apply-fix then verify-outcome. Success means observing intended behavior, not absence of errors.

Use when the PLAN artifact from SAM Stage 2 needs contextualization against actual codebase state — grounds the design plan in reality by performing scope analysis (NEW/MODIFY/COMPLETE classification), conflict detection between plan assumptions and codebase patterns, and resource mapping to concrete file paths and integration points. Produces an updated ARTIFACT:PLAN registered via MCP with a Contextualization section appended.

Designs and diagnoses list experiments (the item count technique), covering whether indirect measurement is warranted, control-list construction against floor and ceiling effects, design variants, estimators and assumption tests in the list package, and power planning for the precision penalty. Use when the user measures a sensitive attitude or behavior and asks about list experiments, item count, unmatched count, or veiled questioning, or has an implausible prevalence estimate. Deciding whether sensitivity bias exists at all goes to survey-design.
