charatone

Design and review distinct voices for Japanese character dialogue by setting each speaker’s sentence endings, pronouns, forms of address, and reactions. Check scripts for repetitive patterns, then revise lines while preserving their meaning and emphasis.

OriginalShow the original description

Good for

  • Designing voice patterns for a cast
  • Checking scripts for repetitive sentence endings
  • Revising dialogue that sounds alike across characters
  • Reviewing dialogue for games, manga, novels, or audio drama

Overview

What it does

Before dialogue is written, charatone creates a voice guide for each character. It records their usual sentence endings, endings for key moments and emotional slips, how they speak to people of different standing, pronouns, forms of address, acknowledgments, and endings they avoid. It also distinguishes speakers through what they notice, how they react, what they leave unsaid, and their sentence length and order of ideas. After a script is drafted, its companion script checks the distribution of sentence-ending patterns by speaker and flags repetition or imbalance. When revising lines, charatone follows the guide while preserving meaning, information, and force.

When it helps

Use it when writing or reviewing dialogue for game scenarios, manga storyboards, novels, voice dramas, or LINE dramas. It can help when every character keeps ending lines with the same blunt form, when endings feel repetitive, or when readers cannot tell who is speaking without names. It can also help create natural differences without assigning honorific language or stereotyped character speech mechanically.

Example requests

  • “Make a voice guide for these characters before I write their dialogue.”
  • “Check this script for repetitive sentence endings and suggest lines to revise.”
  • “Make these similar lines sound more distinct without changing their meaning.”

Notes

Running the checking script requires Python 3. It only reads the script and does not change it. Its classifications are based mechanically on ending strings, so review intentional expressions by eye. No data is sent externally.

charatone

詳しい例と使いどころは references/gobi-catalog.md。

scripts/charatone_lint.py(このスキルのフォルダ内)で、話者ごとの語尾の分布を出す。

  2. lint
